The Women Leaders Association, the largest publisher and events organization for women professionals with 43,000 members and more than 130 regional chapters, today announced Kerry Hoffman, Ph.D., PCC, as the first official Coaching Partner of its Indianapolis chapter. The appointment launches the association's Coaching Partners program in central Indiana, giving members direct access to coaches screened for credentials, track record, and client results.
Coaching is one of the highest-impact investments a professional woman can make in her career, and one of the hardest to shop for. Titles are unregulated and quality varies enormously. Under Coaching Partners, the association does the screening on the member's behalf, vetting every coach for recognized certifications, verifiable experience, and excellent client reviews, so members can book a consultation with confidence.

"I noticed a pattern in the women I've coached over the years," said Hoffman. "Accomplished, capable people who'd spent so long managing everyone else's needs that they'd stopped asking what they wanted. When I have more time. When the kids go off to kindergarten or college. When this project is over. When I retire. I did the same thing myself, for longer than I'd like to admit, until I realized later almost never comes. It's not that we don't want our goals. It's that wanting isn't committing, and commitment is the part we keep skipping."
Hoffman calls this self-leadership: the same vision, decision-making, and follow-through leadership takes anywhere else, applied to your own life.
"You already know how to lead a team, a household, a family," Hoffman said. "What no one hands you is a plan for leading yourself. That's the leadership I coach."
Her practice rests on a specific insight about how change actually happens. Most people try to answer "what's next" by reflecting harder, journaling more, or waiting for clarity to strike. Research suggests clarity does not come first, it comes after: people act their way into a new direction through initial, small tries or experiments, noticing what resonates, and the clarity arrives as a byproduct of the trying.
That is the basis of her SHIFT Method, a structured process for turning "I want to" into "I'm doing this" and staying with it past the point where motivation runs out. Its five parts ask a client to Sort who she actually is from the stories she has been told, Hold a clear vision of what she is moving toward, design small If-Then concrete experiments rather than one paralyzing plan, Free the mental space to act, and build the Team that supports her and makes the change stick.
Hoffman brings more than 30 years in the field of education to her coaching. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Purdue University. She has been credentialed as a Professional Certified Coach by the International Coaching Federation since 2021 and is certified in Everything DiSC®.

The Indianapolis launch is part of a national rollout extending Coaching Partners across the association's network of more than 130 chapters, pairing each city's members with coaches selected for that market.
Coaching Partners extends the association's mission of giving professional women both structural transparency and individual support. Research from Pew and others estimates that women still earn roughly 15 percent less than men on average, and most have little visibility into which employers advance women fairly. The association's Glass Ceiling Score project scores most major U.S. employers on how fairly they promote women into management and executive roles. Coaching Partners adds the personal dimension: once a member sees the landscape clearly, a proven coach helps her move through it.
